Three years after I took over the hot spring inn from my predecessor, I was worried about the empty days. My wife, Kaori, the proprietress, supported me through it all, but the inn was on the verge of closing down... Then, my wife's childhood friend, Saji, came to stay at the inn. Saji works at an advertising agency, and I remember us hitting it off and discussing working together to liven up the inn, but I must have fallen asleep. From that day on, the business saw a V-shaped recovery the following week, but for some reason my wife looked gloomy. I followed Kaori as she snuck out of bed in the middle of the night in an attempt to find out what was bothering my wife, but she disappeared into Saji's guest room when he came to stay again...
